Photo Round Up | Memphis Road Trip

March 26, 2016

Traveling is one of my favorite things to do, so anytime my friends want to road trip, I’m always up for it. In my last post, I mentioned our road trip to Memphis and reviewed a cute diner called The Arcade Restaurant. In this post, I want to show you some of the photos I took while we walked around the city. I got some really cool shots and pretty much fell in love with downtown Memphis.

The first place we stopped at after eating was a book store. It’s called the Book Juggler and the logo immediately caught our eye. Walking in, you immediately feel at home. It also didn’t help that the walls were painted in my favorite shade of blue. It’s a small and quaint book store, but I could picture myself reading on their couch for hours.

Once we got done looking at all of the books, we decided to walk further down and check out the shops on the other side of the street. There were some really cool murals and buildings and I fell in love with the whole atmosphere.

After walking around and stopping by The Peabody Hotel to see the ducks, we drove over to the Bass Pro Shop. I would’ve never thought that we would drive 10 hours and go see a Bass Pro Shop, but it was actually really cool. The building is a huge metal pyramid and you are able to go up the largest freestanding elevator to the top of the building and look over the edge and see the city. It was honestly one of the coolest things we have ever done on one of our trips. It’s definitely worth the $10 ticket.

On our way out of Memphis, we stopped by the National Civil Rights Museum. It was actually closed, so we couldn’t go in, but we did get to walk around and see some of the stuff on the outside. There was a really somber feeling in the air and there were a few groups walking around as well, so we weren’t completely alone.. I’m not sure how to describe the feeling I got from being there, it was just really somber and quiet. I will definitely be making another trip to Memphis to go into the actual museum.

I hope y’all enjoyed seeing my photos. In the comments, let me know where the last place you traveled to was. I’d love to hear about your travels. 🙂

Sincerely, B.
