Galveston with Friends | NYE Photos

January 8, 2016

Happy New Year everyone! I can’t believe it’s already 2016. Time is just flying by! I usually never do anything for New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day, but this year a couple friends and I headed down to Galveston to hang out and celebrate the new year.

Galveston was still somewhat decorated for Christmas, so it was fun going around and taking photos of everything. I wasn’t really feeling Christmas this year for some reason and it was nice to see all the Christmas trees and cute wreaths around town.

As we were walking around the Strand, we found this cute little area that had a Christmas tree and these little houses. There were a few kids running around, but we were able to have a quick photo shoot before the overrun the area. Morgan and I decided it would be cute to play patty cake in front of the houses. Hahaha. 🙂

Once we got done with our little photo shoot and walking around the different shops, we went down to the beach and walked down a rocky pier. It was somewhat frightening as the waves were crashing against the rocks, which in turn made the rocks slippery. I was also nervous cause I was holding my DSLR without any protection, so I was praying I didn’t slip and fall or get water on it.

Galveston’s water is really gross, so I apologize for that. I thought about making all the photos black and white, but I wanted to be truthful, lol. After we got done taking photos at the beach, we headed over to our hotel. Once we checked in and everything, we found that we had a view of the beach, but also to the other side, there was a graveyard. A little creepy at night, but what can ya do?

I didn’t really take any photos after this, we just went to pick up Mauricio, ate at Olive Garden, and waited until Hyacinth got off work. After everyone got to the hotel, we hung out and played Cards Against Humanity/Never Have I Ever until we all passed out at 4am.

I’m so glad I got a chance to get away from Houston and just spend time with my best friends. We are definitely going to have to attempt to do something similar next year. 🙂

In the comments below, let me know what you got up to for New Years. I’d love to know!

Sincerely, B.
