In just a few weeks, I will be heading up to Dallas for my first blogging event. The TXWB Network is hosting a Farm-to-Table dinner with some fabulous sponsors on November 15th at 6:30pm. I’m so stoked to meet some fellow Texas bloggers and have a fun-filled girls’ night. In preparation for this event, the ladies attending the event are all doing a little self-interview to help everyone get to know each other.
1. What is your name, blog title, and URL link? (*include a recent photo of yourself too!)
My name is Brittaney Penney and I blog here at brittaneypenney.com.

2. How did you come up with your blog’s title?
My blog title is just my name, so I guess I got it from my momma. 😉
3. How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging for a couple of years now, but I have moved quite a bit. I’ve been on Tumblr for 4 years (I still use my personal one), then moved to Blogger, and now I’m here at Squarespace (with my own domain!!).
4. When we visit your blog, what can we expect to discover?
You can expect to see posts of anything and everything. I write about whatever strikes my fancy. I’ve posted about my travels (including my recent trip to the UK), beauty products I love, outfits I’ve put together, things I’ve bought (hauls), home decor, and there might just be some baking in the near future. *cough cough* Next week *cough cough*
5. Share the link to your favorite or most popular blog post(s).
My most popular post was about the song that was written for me by my friends in Dear You. If you have ever wanted to get to know me on a more personal level, that song is pretty much it. It’s about my experience with my parent’s divorce. When I was on Blogger, that and my Throwback Thursday post about my sister’s wedding were the two most popular.

6. What are three goals you have for your blog next year?
- I hope my blog grows in readership and subscribers.
- I hope to improve my writing and my photography.
- I also would love to attend a blogging conference and some more social events.
7. Tell us about your family. Are you married or in a relationship? Do you have kids? If so, how many and how old are they? Do you have pets? You know, the usual stuff.
I am a single, 20 (21 on December 13th!) year old college student. I have 3 siblings; an older sister, an older brother, and a younger brother. My sister is married and she has two daughters, whom I adore. I don’t have any pets, but I really want a turtle, or maybe a cute little bunny. I’ve always wanted a pomsky, but I’m allergic to dogs (& cats), so I don’t know how that would work. They are super cute though. 😉

These are my nieces at their birthday party last month. They were dressed as Elsa and Anna from Frozen. Rori, age 5, was Elsa, and Ellie, age 3, was Anna. I believe this is what they are being for Halloween also. 🙂
8. What part of Texas do you call home?
I was born in Southwest Houston (my mom drove 35 minutes to Downtown Houston to pick my dad up from work while in labor…), but was raised in The Woodlands (North of Houston) from birth to age 18. I am now living in South Houston whilst attending college.
9. How do you make a living?
I have a part-time job working as a desk assistant in the residence halls on my college campus.
10. Have you attended blog conferences or social events in the past? If this is your first time, what are you most nervous about?
This will be my first blog event! I’m mostly nervous about meeting everyone, although I’m excited as well. I’m really shy when I meet people, so I hope I am able to speak up and become friends with a few of the lovely ladies attending.
11. What are you looking forward to the most at the TXWB dinner event?
I’m mainly just looking forward to meeting everyone and having fun. <3
